You can try something like this:
1. Create a text field on the lead called Initial Source
2. Create a workflow on the lead so that when lead source is set the Initial Source field is populated with the value of lead source
3. Createa a text field on the accounted called Initial Lead Source
4. Map the lead Initial Source to the Account Intial Lead Source on conversion
When the first lead is converted for the account, the initial lead source on the account will have the source for that lead.
You can pull this field onto the opportunity as a formula field or just display it in reports. So you can always have the intial lead source visibile for every opportunity.
