How to hide old records

So when I'm on a particular object and I have the related lists that show all of the records (and selected fields visible) for that particular item that are all visible either hovering over the hyperlink or viewing them down on the record page...my users are asking if there is a way to HIDE really old records/data as some of these lists are getting really really long.

Is there a way to do this? If so, how? Any help is appreciated!
