Hello, I'm continuing to dig into the service console and have a question about the highlights panel. I wanted to edit the fields that are displayed in the panel. In order for me to modify the fields, I noticed that I have to also update the compact layout.
When I took these steps the highlights panel was updated with the fields that I wanted to display.
Am I correct in the steps that I took to update the highlights panel? or did I take the long route? It seems a bit strange to update the compact layout just to get the highlight panel to change. I thought the compact layout was just for mobile.
Any light you can shine on this would be great!

You are correct - the Compact Layout is the same Layout used by the Highlights Panel. This is a bit of an annoyance for my users since what we want to see on a desktop is different than mobile, but I believe breaking layouts apart, so that you can have different layouts across devices for the same user is on the roadmap.
