We have a Business Requirement to map ERP Sold To, Ship To, and Bill To related data at the Account Level. We are implementing Order Management and need to initiate from Salesforce, which requires the dropshipping concept in Salesforce. This was earlier done in ERP where One Sold To have multiple Ship To. We have developed a Custom Solution; however, it is not scaleable. Any input on how businesses are managing this? I would love to hear from someone and would like to speak. #Order Management #AccountEngagement #Sales Cloud

what about a custom object called ship to addresses with a MD relationship back to the account, then create a record for each ship to address?

I've generated a report to ensure the Active Contacts with renewable products always have a new Renewal Opportunity created for the next annual period.  However, I've run into cases where we booked a Renewal Opportunity and an Order was created, but new Contract was NOT created for the renewal period.  Is there a report I can generate to find all Closed Won Renewal Opportunity that did not result in an Contract being created?

How are you tracking "Contracts"?  Is that a standard or Custom Object record that is connected to the Opportunity record via a Lookup(Opportunity) field or something like that?

Hi all. Reaching out to you for input on a hiccup we’re trying to solve for. We are implementing B2B and OMS. Here is my scenario.

I must ship to an account with 1000 locations.  2 different products are being shipped to each location at a qty that varies according to the customer’s request.

The current solution is to create 2000 staging orders (custom object) that are grouped into orders per Contact Point Address. Once the 1k orders/order summaries are ready to go to the shipping vendor, 1k fulfillment orders are created via a custom button. Shipping confirmation back from the shipping vendor changes the status of the fulfilment orders and set the order summaries status to closed. (Fyi, a job runs nightly to delete the staging orders).

This gives us row lock error while creating order summaries from a large number of orders at one time. What is the best practice here? I am new to OMS so trying to understand better the implications. Since we have a high volume of orders every day, should we be creating orders summaries the way we do? One suggestion is to create fulfillment orders directly. I’m curious. How are you handling high volume order creation via OMS? Thank you in advance for your input.

    Hi @Astie Yovo-Kpela,

When there are multiple Apex transactions that are creating Order Summary records by Connect API, the related Account of the Order will be queried by that Connect API which will cause the lock row issue. If it was B2C, I'd say go with multiple Apex Batches since most of the time the Account will be different but in your case, I'd go with Apex Batch but one at a time/serial (in order to prevent having lock issues).

Regarding Fulfillment Order creation, I'd separate that process from the Order Summary creation process by creating another Apex Batch.

I want to know how to cancel a whole FO and OS. There is a core action for cancel a FO item but is there something similar for the Order Summaries or complete Fulfillment Orders?

We have also seen that you can reduce orders (orderitems), but from my understanding you can do this before the fulfillment orders.

The main reason for this is when a package is lost during shipping

    Hey @Charalampos Georgiadis,

Fulfillment Order object have a standard field called Status which also contains Status Category as well. Rather than Status, Status Category decides what will happen to the Fulfillment Order record. By default, the Canceled status is assigned to the Canceled Status Category. Status category means Salesforce performs some actions behind the scene that's why you can't change the status after once Fulfillment Order record is Canceled.

In order to cancel the whole Fulfillment Order record, all you need to do is select the appropriate status (Canceled) and Fulfillment Order will be canceled.

There is no such core action for Order Summary because it doesn't have Status Category which means you can go back and forth with the Order Summary records but you can't do the same with Fulfillment Order records.

Regarding adjustments, you can use after Fulfillment Order creation as well. See Post-fulfillment https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sf.flow_ref_elements_om_actions_adjust_ois_submit.htm&type=5
