#Import Data Challenge토론 중인 항목 5개

Hello,

I am working on the Trailhead project

Import and Export with Data Management Tools, step Use the Data Import Wizard.

I successfully imported all 44 Lead records from the provided CSV file using the Data Import Wizard.

  •  The import completed successfully.
  •  I received the confirmation email.
  •  All 44 Leads are present in my Trailhead Playground.
  •  They are owned by my user and were created today.

However, when I click Check Challenge, I always get the following error:

"The 'Lead' records from the CSV were not found. Please check the instructions."

I also verified that my user language and locale are set to English (United States), but the problem persists.  This was an indication related to this particular module that other people gave as feedback.

The import file contains also a column Owner with name and surname of the Lead Owner, but no ID. The names and surnames are not even present in the Trailhead Playground, so the Leads were automatically associated to my user because I was the one to import them.

Has anyone experienced the same issue? Is this a known verification bug?

Dear Mihai Huber (Ananda Sangha) and  Abhishek Saha (Capgemini)  thank you for your responses. The solution of Mihai helped me with the problem. Indeed there was an issue  with the sign ";" saved automatically instead of "," in a csv. The Notepad workaround was very useful. thanks a lot one more time!

Our charity is quite new to salesforce and we're looking to import data about our donors from a csv file from elsewhere (Enthuse) into salesforce.

Each time someone donates, we receive their contact information (email, phone number, address) which may have changed since the last time they donated, so we would like to update the 'contact' object with this information.

However, primarily, we want to import the donation amount and details as an 'opportunity' object that is linked to a contact within the NonProfit Success Pack.

Would I be able to import the data to both update the contact details as well as update a new opportunity linked to that contact record, simultaneously in one data import? Or do these need to be done separately one after the other?

Thank you in advance for your help!

    Hi @Helen Cordina,

Great question, this is a common scenario when working with donor data and the Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP).

You’ll need to handle Contacts and Opportunities (donations) in two separate imports, rather than all at once. Here’s why and how:

    1. Update Contacts first
      • Use the Data Import Wizard or Data Loader to import your contact information (email, phone, address, etc.).
      • Make sure each contact has a unique identifier (such as email or Salesforce Contact ID) so Salesforce knows which records to update instead of creating duplicates.
    2. Import Opportunities next
      • Once your contact records are updated, import your donation data into the Opportunity object.
      • Include a field in your CSV (like Contact ID or email) that allows Salesforce to link each opportunity to the right contact.
      • In NPSP, donations are often linked to Contacts through the Primary Contact field on the Opportunity or via the Contact Role relationship.

Unfortunately, Salesforce doesn’t support creating or updating records in two different objects simultaneously in a single import. Doing it in two steps ensures your data stays accurate and relationships link correctly.

If you’re planning to do this regularly, you might also explore NPSP Data Importer, which helps manage both Contacts and Opportunities in one process, but still handles them as separate records behind the scenes.

Hope that helps clarify the process!

Why am I getting this error? Why does my screen look different from the screen in the exercise if I followed the instructions correctly?

Hi, do anybody know how to use the Data import Wizard as a button. When it clicked, it should create a subtab from the record and display the Data import wizard UI on it.

    @Saurabh Singh

I'm trying to build this out to load custom records to an opportunity. The button works but it doesn't seem to be pulling in the Opportunity ID from the record where the button is placed. When I try to load the records I'm getting this error. Do I need to have the ID in my file or should this URL map it to each record that I load?

Hi, I've been searching the forums but haven't found any solutions. I'm stuck on the map application step. It's giving me an error. I've already checked the saved CVS file and it's fine. However, everything appears in one row. I've seen videos and others that show different properties like first name, etc., in different rows.

I attach a photo of where I am stuck, Stuck at

and the error that appears when clicking next

    To resolve this issue:

    1. Go to your file and right click on it.
    2. Select Open with and select notepad
    3. Once the file open in notepad, click on the Edit Tab.
    4. Select replace
    5. On the "Find what" field enter the value (;) semi-colon
    6. On the "Replace with" field enter the value (,) comma
    7. Click on the Replace all button.
    8. Save the file and add the .CSV on the end of the file name.

Once done with the last step, don't open again the save file on excel. This will ensure that the delimiter of the file is save as comma delimited. The file should be good for import.
