Hi everyone,

We need guidance on managing Salesforce Revenue Cloud Advanced (RCA) configuration data across sandbox environments:

1. Post-Refresh Data Seeding (Dev Sandboxes) When refreshing Developer sandboxes, configuration data (Products, Catalogs, Attributes, Price Books, Price Rules) is not copied over.

  • What tools do you recommend for seeding this data ?
  • How do you manage External IDs across environments to preserve parent-child relationships and avoid duplicates?

2. Deployment Strategy (Dev → Next Environments) Our vendor team deploys via VS Code and Dell Boomi.

  • How do you split deployment tasks between metadata tools (VS Code for Context Definitions, Expression Sets, Decision Tables) and data integration tools
  • What is the required deployment order and post-deployment steps (e.g., Sync Pricing Data / Decision Table refreshes, Product Index rebuilds) to avoid runtime errors like "Price Not Found"?

Thanks for your advice!

When refreshing developer sandboxes where core configuration data like products, catalogs, attributes, price books, and price rules do not carry over, you should leverage reliable data migration utilities such as Salesforce Data Loader, SFDX data tools, or specialized CPQ seeding scripts. To maintain parent-child hierarchies and prevent duplicate records across environments, ensure that you prepopulate and maintain consistent external IDs across all catalog and pricing records before executing bulk data inserts.

For your deployment workflow moving from development to downstream environments, cleanly divide your tasks by deploying metadata components like context definitions, expression sets, and decision tables via VS Code first, while using integration platforms like Dell Boomi to handle your underlying pricing data records. Following a strict sequence that deploys your metadata structure prior to your pricing data records ensures that dependent references resolve correctly from the start.

Execute essential post-deployment steps to prevent runtime calculation issues such as "Price Not Found" errors. You must refresh your decision tables, synchronize pricing data, and trigger product index rebuilds in the target environment so that runtime calculations align properly against your newly deployed context definitions and catalog hierarchies.

I am starting to learn revenue cloud. I have a query regarding Pricing Procedure. Let us say I have 2 Pricing procedures - Procedure 1 and Procedure 2 both are based on RevSalesContextDefinition. Which will be used on a Quote?

When refreshing Developer sandboxes, core configuration data like Products, Catalogs, Attributes, Price Books, and Price Rules do not automatically carry over. To seed this data efficiently, you should use data migration tools like Data Loader, SFDX data CLI commands, or specialized CPQ data migration utilities. To preserve parent-child relationships and avoid duplicate keys, maintain consistent External IDs across environments for all catalog and pricing records before performing bulk data inserts.

For your deployment workflow from Dev to downstream environments, split your tasks cleanly between metadata and configuration data. Use VS Code and your metadata pipeline to deploy Context Definitions, Expression Sets, and Decision Tables, while using data migration or integration tools (such as Dell Boomi or data loaders) for price books and pricing rules. Follow a strict deployment sequence by deploying metadata components first, followed by your pricing and catalog data records.

Finally, execute the necessary post-deployment steps to prevent runtime errors like "Price Not Found." You must refresh Decision Tables, synchronize pricing data, and rebuild Product Indexes in the target environment so that runtime calculations resolve correctly against the newly deployed context definitions and catalog hierarchies.

Hi Everyone,

I would like to get some clarification on the best approach for migrating from Salesforce CPQ to Agentforce Revenue Cloud.

Specifically, I’m trying to understand how the licensing and org setup work during the migration. If we migrate everything from our existing Salesforce CPQ solution to Revenue Cloud, would we need to continue paying for both the existing CPQ org/licenses and the new Revenue Cloud licenses during the transition, or would we only need to pay for the Revenue Cloud licenses?

Also, how does Salesforce typically handle the transition period between CPQ and Revenue Cloud? Is there a recommended approach or migration strategy that allows us to avoid paying for both solutions for an extended period?

If anyone has gone through a CPQ-to-Revenue Cloud migration or has experience with the licensing side of it, I would really appreciate your insights.

Thanks.

When a user marks a Quote as Primary, Quote-to-Opportunity synchronization should also be enabled for that Quote?

To achieve this, I am using the standard syncQuoteOpportunity action in my Flow and have enabled Enable Asynchronous Opportunity Sync in Revenue Settings but still it is not working although the flow is working properly but it is not syncing the QLI to OLI, so is there any other considerations to use.

Hello Community,

I recently created a new Revenue Cloud Developer Org and completed the initial Revenue Cloud setup (https://trailhead.salesforce.com/promo/orgs/get-started-revenue-cloud) . However, I'm facing an issue with Browse Catalog.

When I open Browse Catalog, the category hierarchy is displayed correctly, but no products are visible under any category.

I have already verified the following:

  • Categories and hierarchy are created correctly
  • Products are active
  • Product Category relationships exist
  • Product Selling Model Options are configured
  • Standard Price Book entries are created
  • Rebuilt the Product Index using Full Refresh
  • Performed Pricing Synchronization
  • Tested with System Administrator access

What's interesting is that even the standard/sample products that come with the Revenue Cloud Developer Org are not visible in Browse Catalog.

Has anyone encountered this issue before? Are there any additional setup steps, publication steps, catalog activation requirements, or indexing processes required to make products appear in Browse Catalog?

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Hi everyone!

I was wondering if there is a simple way to add products by searching in the list of all products in the revenue cloud quote line item editor?

I can add them from browse catalogue or the search whenever the product exists in a catalogue.

But I want to be able to search all products with the revenue cloud quote line editor without necessarily having them be added to a catalogue.

Is this possible?

Thank you!

No, natively, ARM/Revenue Cloud doesn't let you search and add from "all products" the way Salesforce CPQ does..

Natively, there's no way to search and add products in the Transaction Line Editor without going through Browse Catalog, and Browse Catalog is inherently catalog scoped; a product has to be catalog/category assigned to be searchable and addable there.

For comparison: in Salesforce CPQ, clicking Add Product on the QLE pulls up a list of products based on your price book — there's no catalog concept in CPQ, so effectively every priced product is visible and pickable.

In ARM, Browse Catalog replaces that flow, and it's built around the catalog/category model by design — a product needs catalog assignment (plus price book entry, selling model, and indexing) to appear there.

Hi all,

I am trying to ensure the line editor in revenue cloud takes the correct currency from the quote.

I currently have price book entries in GBP and in EUR.

Currently on my GBP currency quotes it is still taking the EUR price entries in the line editor.

I have set the currency in the pricing procedure and product discovery but it still takes the wrong currency entry.

Does anyone know how to resolve this?

Thanks!

Kind regards,

    Hi Marie,

The line editor doesn't read the currency off the screen. It prices with whatever CurrencyIsoCode actually arrives in the context the procedure runs with. If that value comes through blank, pricing falls back to the corporate currency, and a GBP quote still grabs the EUR price book entry.

A few things keep doing this even after the currency is set on the procedure.

Check the quote itself, not the opportunity. If the quote was created while the opp was still EUR, the quote stays EUR.

Existing lines keep the price book entry they were added with. Switching the quote to GBP doesn't swap those. Reprice them, or drop a new line on and see if that one comes in as GBP.

Product discovery and the line editor can be calling a different procedure than the one you edited. Trace a GBP quote and look at the pricing input before it picks an entry. If it already says EUR there, the mapping that ran never got the quote currency.

When the trace shows GBP going in and you still get the EUR entry, then the price book on that quote doesn't have a GBP entry for that product, and it's falling through.

Hi Salesforce Community,

I am currently working on a Revenue Cloud Advanced and I need some guidance on setting up the Billing process correctly.

I have already created the required product, pricing, quote, and order configuration. My Order is activated successfully, but I am facing an issue when trying to create a Contract from the Order.

When I click Create Contract on the Order record, I receive this error:

My Order has an Account, Order Start Date, Status, Order Amount, and Order Products populated.

I would like to understand:

  1. What is the correct Billing setup sequence in Revenue Cloud?
  2. What are the required configurations for Billing, such as:
    • Billing activation
    • Legal Entity
    • Billing Treatment
    • Tax Treatment
    • Billing Policy
    • Payment Terms
    • Billing Context Definition
    • Billing Context Mapping
    • Billing Schedule / Billing Schedule Group
  3. For Create Contract from Order, which Context Definition and Context Use Case Mapping records are required?
  4. How can I identify which source field is mapped to the Contract Name field and is currently returning null?
  5. Do I need to configure Create Contract / Update Contract Context Use Case Mapping manually, or should the standard Order → Contract mappings work out of the box?
  6. Is the issue related to my Order being Activated, or is it specifically a Context Service / field mapping configuration issue?

I have attached screenshots of the Order and the error.

Any guidance on the correct configuration steps or recommended Salesforce documentation/Trailhead modules for Revenue Cloud Billing and Contract Management would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Hi everyone,

I'm working on a Revenue Cloud implementation with two sandboxes (both refreshed from the same production org, at different times). In Sandbox A, activating an Order correctly creates Asset records from the OrderItems. In Sandbox B, the exact same flow (Quote → Contract → Order → Activate) leaves the Order in Status = 'Activated' with zero errors, but no Asset is ever created — and querying Asset in that sandbox returns 0 records, period, in its entire history.

What I've already ruled out (identical between both sandboxes):

  • RevenueManagementSettings, OrderSettings (all flags match, including enableEnhancedCommerceOrders=true, enableAutoAddDerivedAsset=true)
  • PermissionSetLicense for Revenue Cloud User / Fulfillment User / Billing / Business Rules Engine — all Active
  • Extended ContextDefinition mapping for Order/OrderItem vs Quote/QuoteLineItem — byte-for-byte identical counts
  • No custom Apex triggers or Flows on Order in either org — it's the pure standard "Activate" action
  • No AsyncApexJob/BackgroundOperation errors around the activation — nothing seems to even attempt the asset generation step
  • TransactionProcessingType: the broken sandbox had zero records while the working one had one marked default (Business Rules Engine). I created a matching record via Tooling API, but the issue persists.

Has anyone run into a case where Asset-Based Order Management (or whatever gates Order→Asset generation) is silently disabled at the org level in a way that doesn't show up in any Settings metadata, Tooling API object, or PermissionSetLicense? Is there a one-time, irreversible enablement step (like "Enable Contract, Asset, and Subscription Management") that a sandbox refresh could leave off even when everything else looks provisioned?

Any pointers on where else to look (or whether this needs a Support case) would be hugely appreciated — this is blocking QA testing for a client go-live.

Check the Assetize Order Flow is activated or not, along that check any RLM errors in Revenue Transaction Error Logs object, check Assetize Order Permission Set assignment as well.
