Multiple Experiences Displaying Simultaneously

Expected Behavior

For a given personalization point:

  • Only the highest-priority eligible decision should win.
  • Only one experience should display.

Actual Behavior

We are observing:

  • Multiple personalization experiences appearing at the same time.
  • Duplicate or overlapping UI experiences.
  • Conflicting experiences displayed to the same user session.
  • Multiple personalization/decisions calls to decisions API.

Anyone ran into this issue with your SFP implementation lately?

    Hey Gokul,

Salesforce's own Decisioning API diagnostics doc covers exactly this pattern. Two documented causes for targeting rules not evaluating as expected:

    1. Targeting rules were misconfigured, check the rule configuration in the UI directly for the affected decision

    2. Rules couldn't be evaluated at runtime due to unexpected data format in the associated profile data graph, this is the "inconsistent" part you're seeing, if the visitor's profile data doesn't match the expected format/type the rule is checking against, evaluation silently fails for that individual even though the rule looks correct in the builder

Since you're seeing inconsistent results (works for some eligible users, not others) rather than a total failure, cause #2 is more likely, worth checking the actual Data Graph feeding your targeting rule for inconsistent or missing attribute formats across profiles, rather than assuming the rule logic itself is wrong.

Practical next step: check the Decisioning API diagnostic codes returned for the failing requests (via PersonalizationLog for unauthenticated requests), that'll tell you definitively whether it's a rule misconfiguration or a data format mismatch at runtime, rather than guessing from the UI alone.

Targeting Rules Not Evaluating Correctly

Expected Behavior

When a visitor matches the configured audience criteria:

  • SFP should evaluate the targeting rules.
  • The eligible decision should be selected.
  • The experience should render.

Actual Behavior

  • Targeting rules are not evaluating as expected.
  • Eligible users are not consistently receiving the expected experiences.
  • Decision selection appears inconsistent.

Anyone ran into this issue lately ? How did you resolve it?

Hi All,

We are about to implement Data Cloud in a retail company.

What use cases are common with this platform with Personalization and MC included?

Are you a Salesforce partner? Please check the conditions below.

    https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=000390865&type=1

As outlined in this help document, if you are a Salesforce partner, please request permission to use Marketing Cloud Personalization from the alliance representative at your company. If you cannot find the alliance representative at your company, we recommend consulting with a Salesforce AE whom you know.

Hi there, we are trying to use the fields on campaign member on marketing cloud emails using personalisation but the personalisation is only available for leads, contacts and accounts. Is there any way to use the campaign member fields on emails. Ex: Survey link field on campaign member record - which will be helpful if we can use on emails

Hi All,

We want to implement abandoned cart (send follow up email to users if they have left items in cart, email shows the products those are in cart).

However, in Einstein recipe the recommendation is not just showing cart items but also some additional items. Sometimes it shows 1 out of 2 cart item only and rest some other items. I see the correct cart count and product urls in user overview from personalization. But my recipe isn't showing correct cart products.

In my recipe the ingredient added is only eligible item and inclusion of products in cart.

Same is having for the wish list items. Can you please suggest why is recipe behaving this way?

Thank You

@Garima Kour We have the exact same usecase. Quick question, if I may.

Should we make sure all known user profile are present in MC Personalization including the sfmc contact key to get this working?

We have about 40M profiles and importing all of them in MCP is not feasible and are looking for alternate ways.

Curious to hear if anyone has altered the global exit intent pop up template to support other trigger types? For example, showing the popup after 10 seconds on the page. To me this seems like something global templates should allow in the configuration. Exit intent is something only trackable on desktop as far as I understand.
