From the wording (which is kinda vague) I'd expect this to only impact the Side Panel in Outlook.

Hello,

We have a custom object called "Interaction" in our Enterprise system that I am trying to get to show up in Outlook.

The object itself allows search and allows activities. It has an active tab. I am a system admin. Just a note, this is in a sandbox, with email enabled.

There was already a global action to create a new Interaction.

I created a custom Email Application Publisher Layout, and added the button to create a new Interaction Record.

How to Create a Custom Object in Outlook

However, once I login to Salesforce in Outlook, there is only the two actions under the "+" New Event and New Task. On that note, not even New Lead is showing.

From all the threads I've read, and looked at, it seems like creating a new custom object is possible, but I can't find any answers as to why my global action is not showing up. Can anyone assist to help me why the global action for New Interaction is not showing up?

Thank you,

Kristen Albers

Compare Einstein Activity Capture and Lightning Sync

Hi everyone,

I am super new to Salesforce just completing our Jump Start project. I wanted other opinions on whether we go for a basic outlook integration sync or automatically sync all emails as contacts with Einstein Activity Capture? Can anyone share the pros and cons or what they went for?

Thank you! :)

I'm helping a company with a new Lightning Professional implementation. They have two customer service reps who each have their own salesforce license, but who use a outlook 365 shared email address for most of their activities. (They do have their own outlook addresses, they just hardly ever use them). Any best practices advice on dealing with this kind of shared outlook environment? I'm thinking ahead to potential complications with email integration, maybe others? Thanks in advance.

Just a quick thought, have them use their own for login and such and set the outlook one as a Org wide email they both can access to send from.

Hello-- I work with a non-profit that is member based (companies are members, all employees then are eligible to participate in events etc...so lots of individual contact records).  We are transitioning to SalesForce in steps and we are currently at a standstill due to Outlook having previously being our sole "contact database" (YES- super outdated--hence why we are charging ahead with SalesForce!!!).

The question is this:

- We previously had member categories in Outlook (3 of these) which we then entered every person who we had attend events, get involved etc.  (Example: Company ABC is a "Manufacturer Type Member", and we would enter Jim, Sue, Ashley, and John as individual contact records under this category)

- We then have MANY MANY MANY distribution lists that were for our different communication types that fed from these contact records.  (Example, "Manufacturer Primary Contact", "Non-Primary/Secondary Manufacturer Member Who Get Stuff" --this was everyone who wished to be involved. And we would add individual contact records then to all applicable category of Distribution Lists --committees, Newsletter recipients, board members etc since many people were on multiple lists)

-We are trying to now "recreate" distribution lists in Outlook.

  1. Is there a way to easily upload these distribution lists that are pre-exisitng?
  2. Is there a way when we create a new contact record (Joes Shop becomes a member and they will have, like every other new member, a Primary, Secondary, and Top Company Official who will be on specific regular communication dist. lists.) and have them automatically added to a "living" distribution list?
    • We want a way to email all Top Company Officials regarding an OSHA update (and BCC the email) can I just click a button and it pulls the most current and up to date list without me individually adding people to distribution lists after creating each new contact record? (Currently in Outlook - we use 2007 before we get to Office 365--- we create a contact record under the category type of membership, then we go to distribution lists and individually add that contact record to all of the applicable distirbution lists...tedious---we want Salesforce to constantly auto add from the contact record it'self to an email list so we don't have to do additional steps after creating the record)
  3. Right now we have on new contact records an option under the "contact details section" labeled "contact type" and a pick list that allows us to select multiple contact types.  How do we send an email to everyone we selected a contact type for (aka every "AMTS Contract" person)

Help! I really want to get off of Office 2007---- and we can't make the jump until we get this figured out!!!!

Does anyone use ZynBit? I stumbled across this provider and was considering evaluating it for our firm. There are a bunch of reviews, but most are just once sentence "it's great" reviews and over 90% of the total reviews have been left since September of 2016.

If you have firsthand experience with this app, I'd be interested in picking your brain about it.

Thanks!

So far I like Cirrus, but we've had a problem that support hasn't been able to solve. We've been working on this for several weeks. Short version: pulling wrong Lead page layout for the record type, so fields that shouldn't be required are. Support still hasn't been able to solve the issue and its been weeks.
