Hi Everyone,

I am running into a issue that I don't know where to start to diagnose. At our organization we utilize both Kindsight iWave Automatic scoring to score any opportunity that comes into our instance that is over $100 and 999 days since their last scoring or if they haven't been scored at all.

GoFundMePro is our payment portal for users to make donations and sync right into our Salesforce instance. The main issue we are facing is that the managed flow or package that triggers the scoring would fail when GoFundMePro related gifts gets synced in.

Is there any solution or workaround so I can continue have this automation work in order?

This typically occurs because the automated scoring package or managed flow tries to execute synchronously on newly inserted Opportunity or Contact records simultaneously with the GoFundMePro data sync. When high-volume or third-party payment integrations push records into your instance, the sudden influx of DML operations can cause lock contention or trigger depth limits, causing the scoring flow or trigger to fail before it can evaluate the $100 and 999-day threshold criteria.

To resolve this, you should refactor or transition the scoring logic into an asynchronous process, such as a Queueable Apex job or a scheduled batch process, rather than letting it fire on immediate after-insert triggers from the payment portal. This decouples the GoFundMePro gift ingestion from the resource-intensive iWave scoring callouts, ensuring the donations sync cleanly first without being blocked by subsequent processing errors.

Additionally, review the error logs in your Setup under Apex Exceptions or Process Automation Failures to identify the exact failing element. Adding explicit null checks and bulkified try-catch blocks within your wrapper handler will also prevent third-party integrations from stalling when missing secondary related fields during creation.

Hi, everyone! PayPal is set up as a payment option in #Classy App with #NPSP, and I confirmed I can see this payment method on a donation page.

However, when someone pays via Paypal, that data is not flowing into Salesforce similar to Stripe transactions. Are there additional settings or gotchas to be aware of? We also have GoFundMePay. Thank you!

I have found Classy’s documentation and customer support to be amazing, so I would put in a ticket request to them. They can definitely point you in the right direction.

Hi all,

Is anyone here part of a foundation that sponsors DAFs?

I don't mean accepting donations from DAFs,  but rather you manage the fund and send out the donations.

I'm brainstorming how you can set up records when someone opens a DAF with an organization---while also not confusing that with how DAF donations are managed.

A new record type? A whole new DAF object?

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

Thanks Usman.  I'm actually referring to us being the DAF sponsor, not grant recipient but these are also helpful.

Looking for suggestions on how to deal with Address Management in NPSP. Specifically, around mass updating addresses. We got an updated list from NCOA and I am trying to determine the best way to add/verify the new addresses.  In some spot checking, we do already have the address that NCOA gave us, but it's not the default address anymore, at least in our SF. So I would not want to "add" a duplicate address.  So I am wondering what others do?  I mean there has got to be a way. Any upload tools out there that would help with this?  I have XL-Connector and I know I could export and do some vlookup's, etc to help, but I just looking for any short cuts to help, beside manually reviewing all of the records

Address management becomes rather awkward once historical addresses enter the picture. Checking existing Address records against the latest data should come before creating anything new. A matching process using Contact and Address IDs could make the cleanup considerably easier. NCOA data can then be applied with fewer surprises. Otherwise, duplicate addresses have a remarkable talent for multiplying.

Kathy Moua a posé une question dans #Grants Management

Our internal users are using Notes to add comments to a funding request. We would like to keep these notes internal and prevent portal users from viewing them.

The communityFileList component is managed by Grants Management. Is there a way to configure the component so that Notes are not displayed to portal users?

How to hide Notes from communityFileList componenet

As far as I know, the managed communityFileList component in Grants Management does not expose a setting to exclude Notes, so the practical way to handle this is at the data/visibility level rather than in the component.

Some background that helps here: Lightning (enhanced) Notes are stored as Salesforce Files. Each note is a ContentNote/ContentDocument with FileType = 'SNOTE', and it is linked to the Funding Request through a ContentDocumentLink record, exactly like an uploaded file. That is why a file list component picks them up. Whether an external (portal) user can see a linked file or note is controlled by ContentDocumentLink.Visibility: 'AllUsers' means external users with access to the record can see it, 'InternalUsers' means only internal users can.

Options, from least to most effort:

    1. Check the component and the note visibility first. In Experience Builder, open the page with the file list and review the component properties (some versions let you filter by file type or related record). Then on a test note, check its ContentDocumentLink Visibility (for example via Developer Console: SELECT Id, ContentDocument.FileType, Visibility FROM ContentDocumentLink WHERE LinkedEntityId = '<FundingRequestId>'). If notes show as AllUsers, that is the root cause.

    2. Automatically make notes internal-only. A small before-insert Apex trigger on ContentDocumentLink can set Visibility = 'InternalUsers' when the linked record is a FundingRequest and the ContentDocument FileType is 'SNOTE'. Existing notes can be fixed with a one-off update of Visibility on their ContentDocumentLink records (Visibility is updatable). Test that the portal still shows the applicant's own uploaded files, which should remain AllUsers.

    3. Use a different place for internal comments. If you want a clean separation, capture internal comments on a record/object that portal users have no access to (for example a custom Internal Review Note object or a long text field hidden from the portal profile via field-level security), or use internal-only Chatter posts.

    4. If the managed component ignores visibility (for example because it runs in system context), replace it on the portal page with a small custom LWC or a Related List component that only shows files where FileType != 'SNOTE'.

Assumption: I could not find official documentation describing configurable properties of the managed communityFileList component, so I am assuming it respects ContentDocumentLink visibility and the portal user's access. Please validate the approach in a sandbox with a portal test user before rolling it out, and consider raising a case with Salesforce Support if the component shows internal-only notes regardless of visibility.

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone has set up a "compliance profile" within Salesforce for their grant recipients. I've been asked to track Governance, Policies, procedures, and other relevant compliance details and files within Salesforce.

Our Grant recipients are all accounts in Salesforce (we use NPSP), they are all organizations (not individual grant recipients), and we track the grant with OFM.

My first thought is to keep it simple: add a few custom fields on the account, save all documents under Files with a standard naming convention, and maybe use tasks to track when documentation needs to be revised again.

A second thought is to create a custom object, child of the account, that holds all relevant information and files for each audit/compliance requirement, plus an expiration date to trigger a review.

Any thoughts or comments?

    Hi @Maida Rider

Your second option scales better. Suggested setup:

    • Custom object “Compliance Requirement” as a child of Account (lookup or master-detail).
    • Fields: Requirement Type (picklist: governance, policy, insurance, audit), Status, Issue Date, Expiration/Review Date, Reviewer, Notes.
    • Files: attach documents to each Requirement record, not the Account. You get one history per requirement.
    • Reminders: a scheduled flow on Expiration Date to create a Task or send an email to the owner. You can even define a standard review period based on the Requirement type field  (this will help standardize the process)
    • Account roll-up: a few fields on Account (for example “Compliance Status” or “# Expired”) using roll-up summary (master-detail) or a flow. Use these in reports and list views.
    • Gate the funding: a validation rule or flow on the funding request/award that warns if the recipient has an expired requirement.

Use a small number of custom fields on Account only for the summary. Everything else stays on the child object

After many years relying on DLRS for rollups that NPSP can't accomplish, some changes in our biz process is now allowing me to move most DLRS rollups to NPSP Customizable Rollups.

I thought this would be an obvious choice since Customizable Rollups have a more user friendly UI (for a future day when I'm not around to maintain them), and are provided by SF itself.

But ...after hitting a Customizable Rollup issue from long ago, realizing that I don't know if Customizable Rollups are no longer actively maintained by anyone, and seeing recent DLRS posts that indicate DLRS *is* actively maintained by the community...

...I'm wondering if DLRS is the safer choice for future-proofing my rollups.

DLRS vs Customizable Rollups - any thoughts?

    Hi @John Fine

Both are reasonable. Which tool you should use will depend on what you are rolling up:

    • Customizable Rollups understand NPSP concepts (soft credits, household and contact rollups, time-bound rollups, GAU allocations). They are configured in the NPSP settings UI, run as batch jobs, and stay inside the managed package.
    • DLRS works on any object (including custom ones and outside NPSP), can update quickly by trigger, and is actively maintained by its community. It requires deploying Apex, and someone has to own it when you leave.

Use Customizable Rollups for standard NPSP giving metrics, and DLRS only for rollups NPSP cannot do. Do not run both on the same target field. Whichever you pick, document it, and check batch times on your data volume.

Does anyone have a solution for integration? Or would we need a third party like Zapier to handle transactions? I assume we'll need to have a Square account first too? Apple Pay seems to be only available if we have Stripe as a payment processor.
