If you are in higher ed and planning to use MFA, here is a great webinar that you should attend on 12/7 that will help you plan and implement MFA by next year so that you are not forced to make the change next year meeting salesforce compliance needs.

Feel free to share your experience and any pointers to avoid or watch out for during MFA implementation!!  I will say talk to your IT team right away on this and ensure it is on their radar. For those with no or limited IT support, talk to Salesforce about possible solutions.

    Hi Russell,

You have a User Object in Salesforce and you have Profiles. How it works is, User has a lookup on Profile. A lookup relationship does a Many-to-one relationship such that, if Object A has a lookup field to Object B, multiple records of A can have a lookup to B but only one at a time.

So to answer your query, one profile can be used by many users in your org. You can in fact assign the same profile to all your users, it won't be a problem.

However, if you look at it, the profile field can have only one profile value on the User record. So only one profile can be assigned to one user at a time.

Hi Russell,You have a User Object in Salesforce and you have Profiles. How it works is, User has a lookup on Profile.

You can, however, assign multiple Permission Sets to a single user. Permission Sets are an additional level of access provided to a user and one user can have multiple Permission Sets while one Permission Set can be assigned to multiple users.
