I have cloned the Minimum Access - Salesforce profile and added the required permissions (flow user, run flows) and the data appears correctly but I do not see the flow action button.  Can someone tell me what could be the issue here?

When using minimum access profile Quick Actions button does not appear

If your Quick action is driven by Flows then in addition to  checking  the above things also remember to set the user as Flow User.

I am trying to set up a permission set where someone in a parallel or lower role hierarchy can change ownership of an opportunity, but only if Field A = B.  Is there a way to set up a permission set to do that?

Hi all! I am having some issues with sharing rules. In our Salesforce instance, we have records (contacts and cases) that we would like to be visible to a subset of our team, but all records. For example when the field "team" = X, this team should be able to see these records. I've tried the following:

  • Contacts are set to private on org defaults, however accounts are public read/write
  • Cases are set to private on org defaults
  • Both contacts and cases have CRUD permissions but not modify all or view all
  • The team members have been assigned to a public group and role (I've tried assigning to public group, role, and role and subordinates
  • I also do have role hierarchies set up, but this team is at the bottom of the hierarchy tree so I would not think it would have any impact on visibility into these records

However, even though this sharing rule has been set up, when I log in as one of these users they cannot see any of the records they are supposed to be seeing, almost like they still only have private access. If there any ideas on where I could be going wrong please let me know!

    • A contact that isn’t linked to an account is always private, regardless of your organization’s sharing model. Only the owner of the contact and administrators can view it. Sharing rules and workflow rules don’t apply to private contacts. If your organization uses divisions, private contacts always belong to the global division.

Hi,

I have a Lightning Page on our Lead object with a field linked through to Opportunity__r.AccountId.

This allows the user to view existing Person Accounts.

I can see it as system admin, but I can't work out how to give permissions for other profiles/permissions sets. I've given full access to the Opportunities & Account objects, but they are still unable to view the field on the Lead Lightning page.

Any ideas would be welcome!

    Hi @Dave Shaw, 👋

I'm trying to understand how you enabled this "field linked through to Opportunity__r.AccountId"

I can see you have a field "Account Name" in your Lead page (Lightning Record Page), and its API name is "Opportunity__r.AccountId", which means there is a relationship between Lead and Opportunity. How did you achieved that?

It seems you have a Lead lookup field in the Opportunity object. Is that right?

Actually, it's the other way around, otherwise you would end up having a related list of opportunities on the lead page.

🎯 Have you checked the Field-Level-Security / Read Access for the Opportunity field on the Lead object?

It appears permission sets could enable this, but before spending too much time.  I am looking for confirmation and steps, on how I could use permission set to enable a single user to update three different picklist fields in the case object.  As we refine a process and steps, want to add a value to a picklist in setup so it can be used across multiple records.  If this was feasible then we can make real time updates as we review instead of submitting request to our IT team.  This way the engineers reviewing can make their suggestions and records can be updated in real time.

@Manoj Nambirajan Thanks for the insight.  Did not setup the flow.  But was able to enable customize application in my sandbox and that seemed to work.  It seems though we cannot tailor this solely to a certain object though.  It appears it opened up all objects and all fields for modification.  Do not think my salesforce team will go for that unfortunately.  If there was a way to narrow the scope to single object and certain fields Than I could see them allowing it.  Thanks again

I am attempting to customize the permissions to a profile (Salesforce license) I am creating. Without making any changes if I click Edit and Save (in this case in Assigned Apps) I get the following message.

You may not turn off permission Allow View Knowledge for this License Type

I don't see anything called "View Knowledge" and I have yet to make changes.

Please advise.

Thank you,

Hindy

I now see that there is a checkbox under the App Settings, in the Knowledge Management section that has a grayed out checkbox 'Allow View Knowledge'. If the Standard Profile is built this way, why does it not allow me to make changed to the profile?

I have a requirement to create a list view  button and assign the button to users with a permission set called Mass Update Status.  The aim is to make sure that these users are the only ones that can update case status from a list view  in case object. i have already managed to deactivate inline editing from list views for all users.

i was thinking a workaround this would be to create a flow , however i am stuck because i don't know how to create the flow

I'm new to Salesforce, hopefully this question makes sense!

I would like to set up our platform so that our sales team cannot see full Opportunity record data until they submit a report based on their existing opportunities.  If they have 3 appointments for the day, I only want them to see the information for their first appointment, and after they submit a report for that appointment (based on fields in the Opportunity Object), they can see their next one.  Basically, that it hides future opportunity data from them, until they complete the open opportunity records.

Matija - that solution makes sense based on my limited understanding of the program at this point -- my question would be - since Opportunities and Events are separate objects, how can I find the next upcoming Opportunity?  Do I need a field in the Opportunity object that references the Event date (maybe when I add an event it overrides these "placeholder" fields)?

I have one user that is allocated to the "End User" policy, and they have the ability to clone a Lead successfully.

I have another user using a different Policy (Lead Gen), and they don't have the ability to Clone (the Clone menu is missing completely).

Where should I start to look to find the issue? I assume this is a permissions issue.
