I have cloned the Minimum Access - Salesforce profile and added the required permissions (flow user, run flows) and the data appears correctly but I do not see the flow action button.  Can someone tell me what could be the issue here?

When using minimum access profile Quick Actions button does not appear

If your Quick action is driven by Flows then in addition to  checking  the above things also remember to set the user as Flow User.

I'm having an issue with Enhanced User List View. The list views will frequently only display 19 records, even when it says at the top that it has returned more. This happens most of the time but not every

 time I visit.

To reveal the full list, I'll usually need to remove one of the filters, then add it back in.

Anyone else experiencing this or have an idea what to do? I recently cleared my cache and this issue persisted.

Update:

Support wasn't able to reproduce the issue on their end, but while screensharing we discovered that if I change the height of the window, a vertical scrollbar will appear on the listview and if I scroll down, it will display the missing results. I guess that'll have to do for now. I did a screencast that I asked them to forward to the product team to hopefully fix for next release.

Including here a GIF showcasing the behavior

I am rendering service for a firm that newly purchased Salesforce

And is my first time getting a job as a Salesforce administrator

I made a mistake by modifying the role hierarchy directly on the production org

And I want to restart it because I have input some unnecessary data in it

Congrats on your new role as a Salesforce Administrator! It's understandable that you're learning the ropes and mistakes can happen along the way, especially with a fresh Salesforce instance. Fortunately, you can restore or reset the role hierarchy in Salesforce without too much trouble.

Step 1: Evaluate the Current Role Hierarchy

Step 2: Delete or Deactivate Unnecessary Roles

Step 3: Reset Role Hierarchy to Default

Step 4: Backup Your Org Data (Optional but Recommended)

Step 5: Test the New Hierarchy

Step 6: Communicate Changes (If Needed)

    Step 7: Document Your Changes

    Additional Tips:

If you're unsure about making changes in the production org, consider creating a Sandbox first, where you can experiment with role hierarchy modifications without affecting live data. This will help you visualize the changes and test them thoroughly.

Trailhead Modules: To further familiarize yourself with managing users and roles, I highly recommend completing some Trailhead modules:

Role Hierarchy Best Practices: Make sure your role hierarchy is aligned with your organization’s security model and data access needs. It's a good idea to keep the role hierarchy as flat as possible and avoid over-complicating it.

To reset the role hierarchy in Salesforce, you’ll need to manually delete unnecessary roles, recreate roles to match the default hierarchy structure, and reassign users as necessary. You can also back up your data before making changes to ensure that you can revert if something goes wrong.

Good luck with your first Salesforce administrator role! You’re on the right track, and your attention to detail in managing the org’s setup will make you a valuable asset to your firm.

Hope answer helps  you and you find it useful.

I am looking to see if there is any published information on the future of Standard Profiles with the EOL of Permissions on Profiles date removed?

I see there was a comment in this group back in March 2023 that Salesforce is planning to replace Standard System Administrator Profile with a standard System Administrator Permission Set Group, link here: https://trailhead.salesforce.com/trailblazer-community/feed/0D54S00000JgZizSAF.

Has there been any update on this? And is there any update on other standard profiles if they will be replaced with any standard Permission Set Groups as well?

@Justin Dux @Evan Drantch AS OF NOVEMBER 2024, the previous plan to retire Profiles has been reversed. Here is an official statement:

"Hey, hashtag#AwesomeAdmins, I wanted to update you on the End of Life of Permissions on Profiles. We are no longer going to enforce the Spring '26 end-of-life date. However, I still wholeheartedly recommend that you operate with a permission set led security model. In addition, all of our investments are very permission set and permission set group focused from a permissions standpoint...."

    And here:

"If you’ve been keeping up with new features for admins each release, you may have noticed we’ve been sharing updates on the future of user management in Salesforce. For the past 3 years, we’ve consistently told our customers and partners that permission sets are the future of user management.

It’s finally here! We’re announcing the end of life (EOL) of permissions on profiles that will be the Spring ’26 release. Over the next few weeks, you will see the official announcement come out.

Before we dive into what’s new with Spring ‘23, here’s a quick reminder of what will remain in a profile and what will eventually be available only in permission sets. I’ve also included some FAQs to help you understand where we’re going.

Profiles will still exist; however, permissions on profiles will EOL and permissions will be available only on permission sets."

Newish Salesforce Admin here....

How do I get sales and service records to stay with the original dept an employee (and not follow them to their new department) was in when they change departments in salesforce? For example we have a user who moves from one role to another, both roles use leads but we want the leads inat user created as part of job "A" to stay with that ciepartment and any new leads to stay with job "B". This way their numbers accurately reflect their performance in both their old and new roles. So far this year we have had over 100 internal transfers, so filtering in reports doesn't seem to be a reasonable option

We are trying to create some permission sets/permission set groups and we would like to be able to enable/disable Chat User and Service Cloud User from a permission set. It isn't under system permissions, is it somewhere else or it is not possible to do it via a permission set?

@Elizabeth Webster, both these 2 settings are on the User Object and you can't use Permission Set to manage users with them. If your goal is to manage users with/without the checkbox for these 2 settings, you can use Salesforce Workbench to query and/or update the User records with field UserPermissionsLiveAgentUser (for Chat User) and UserPermissionsSupportUser (for Service Cloud User) to True.

Select ID, UserPermissionsLiveAgentUser, UserPermissionsSupportUser from User

I have a "super user" who needs access to the setup, view only for things like Flows and other items in the setup not accessible by normal users (login as another user  is also high on their list). I have been researching and experimenting, but so far not able to find anything that would grant this level of visibility without granting full on admin permissions, which is dangerous as they can then add new items, fields, change automations etc! Any tips appreciated!

Did you know Salesforce are retiring some permissions on Profiles from Spring '26? To prepare for the change they have given us tools such as User Access Policies to automate the assignment of permissions based on criteria. Hi Everyone,

I pulled this from google but I have similar messaging for error validation rules. Is there a way to have this message come up "Clearer" for the users.

I have non-techy users that see this and can't tell that they are missing something to continue

Hello @Valerie DeMott as there are some processes launched after saving this kind of record, you also can dedicate a validation rule to check the presence of the fields when saving, and add the fact these fields are filled in in the flow(s) entry conditions. That will be clearer.for the end user. Eric
