WizardCast

A group for all things WizardCast - A salesforce podcast that aims to be as entertaining as educational. Hosted by Brian Kwong (Salesforce Wizard) and Mark Ross (Salesforce Yoda)

The WizardCast returns with not 1, but 2 guests!

We have the wonderful @Jason Teller  and @Shannon Hale  the Senior Directors of Product Management of Salesforce Flow! They share some of their favorite upcoming Flow features in the Spring 20 release, plus where they see going in the future.

Plus, we discuss just what would be a good theme song for Jason so he doesn't feel left out during meetings.

Great job on this podcast; fantastic episode! The explanation of the before-save, and the fact that order of operation is before the before-save apex trigger is critical. We have many process builders internally that we will be converting in order to improve performance.

Really looking forward to Flow Metrics! Thanks for this! cc

Just prioritised. Kudos on a great way to mange this. However, I am still confused about step 3 in your process, which is: Three times a year, product managers create a prioritization list from the most-upvoted ideas.

The key being most-upvoted ideas. But then looking at the ideas I see this:

Workflow email alerts to contacts should be recordable as activity history

https://success.salesforce.com/ideaView?id=08730000000BroKAAS

Votes: 5,469 votes

Status: Open

Email to case loop

https://success.salesforce.com/ideaView?id=087300000007PvJAAU

Votes: 403

Status: Up For Prioritization

5,469 votes vs 403 votes. How does the lower voted idea make it to the shortlist but the higher voted one does not? Especially given a factor of 13.5x more votes?

This seems to be in plain contradiction to most-upvoted ideas.

It's a bit of a mix between clouds, age of the idea, and a bunch of other stuff. If you went just by total votes the older the idea the more likely it would hit the prioritization list even though the importance of that idea may have decreased over time.

this was talked about a bit during the true to the core session at Dreamforce.

It was also a bit when I interviewed

Wow. Just wow. It's been 100 episodes of the #WizardCast

Even more wow, we have the one, the only, @Parker Harris  on this episode! Parker shares some stories from Salesforce past. What happens if you try jumping a Segway off a ramp? Just whose idea was it for Parker to become Lightning Man? Does Parker prefer creamy or crunchy peanut butter?

Nothing but the hard-hitting questions here on the WizardCast. It's a fun episode and a great conversation. You don't want to miss Parker Harris on episode 100 of the WizardCast.

Salesforce announced Einstein Search. @Alexander Lovell  - Product Manager of Search - shares what's new and when people can expect to find AI in their Salesforce searches.

There are not many times where I'm legitimately floored and speechless when a PM shares a new feature. This was one amazing announcement.

Find out how Salesforce is changing how you Search on the platform.

Salesforce #IdeaExchange  has been with us for 13 years and hasn't gotten changed much since then. After an idea posted by @Steve Molis  about the issues with Idea statuses, communication, and more rallied the community - Salesforce took notice and began a project.

@Jennifer Sacks  and @Scott Allan talk about why things are changing, what is changing and when, and finally how you can participate RIGHT NOW. This is an episode you don't want to miss & should listen to immediately!

This was a great episode (as usual) and I'm excited to re-engage with the IdeaExchange after a hiatus. I had an idea while listening to the podcast and heard @Jennifer Sacks mention level of effort. Would it be possible to add a visual scorecard to each Idea that ranked things complexity and level of effort on say a scale from 1-10? I'm thinking it could be like the stats on a the back of a baseball card. I think something like that would help us compare the relative likelihood of seeing each Idea delivered. Happy to talk more about this thought with the team!

#Dreamforce is coming!

@WizardCast  podcast fans may recall I planned on following @Shannon Hale  around with a boombox playing the theme song Mark Ross & I created. Well, I realized that #DF19  is so big with so many people, that completing this mission would be nearly impossible.

Plus, there's so many other events other than Dreamforce that Shannon attends and is currently theme-song-deprived. So therefore, I'm crowding-sourcing.

Behold, the full Shannon Hale theme song. Enjoy.

You're welcome Shannon :)

    Thanks @Brian Kwong

    .

If you all could just hold the boomboxes over your heads à la Jon Cusack in Say Anything, that would be great. ;-)

Did you know that #Quip has an automation tool?  I certainly did not! I didn't realize all the cool things you could do with automation, a document, and Salesforce. VP of Product Management of Quip @Arnab Bose joins the #WizardCast podcast to talk all about the glorious automation in Quip.
