Email Content Tab - how to make visible?

Greetings Pardot community,

I am trying to get the new Content Builder in Salesforce Lightning up and running for my org but whilst surfing around all sorts of documents and community posts, right now I have only manage to get to the new content builder via the Email Templates tab, so that's at least a win. All the videos and help docs seem to just assume that this Email Content tab is already magically there.

The big issue: on my app launcher I have no Email Content tab nor in my app setup. In Setup/Object Manager I do have Email Content...although I worry that it is not showing as deployed. I have found nothing in profiles or Setup/Tabs. It feels like a permission that I need to enable to get it to show up in my app. I have a permission set for "Allow Drag and Drop Email Content". What else?

I was read an interesting thread below that was the closest to my issue, with good input from @Rebecca (Becky) Sweetman and @Kylie Yancey and if either of these folks get pinged here and can offer some help that would be great.

What am I missing? Any help appreciated.

Thanks,

Steve

I as an System Admin was missing the Email Content tab when other Profiles didn't. For me I went into my Profile > searched Email Content > Edit from Tab hidden to Default On

We use Litmus to view our email builds and I keep seeing these serious failures. We are using content builder, so the HTML templates is not allowing me to change the header details. How can I resolve this in my templates without switching to full HTML?

  • Document does not have a non-empty <title> element
  • The <html> element does not have a lang attribute

You can change the template HTML on the Email Template (not Template-based Email) level and the leverage it then in your emails built with content blocks.

Anyone know how to center a button on mobile? In Content Builder when I create a "50/50 Text + Image" block and center-align the button, it looks fine on desktop, but at mobile size, the button left-aligns. Any way to have the button also center-align at mobile size?

@Kayla Gaspar The last update of the gmail application also reports bugs like this one that you show.

We have found a solution by replacing the button with an html, in which, through tables, we associate that button with some text that occupies the entire width of the email.

#Content Builder #Email Marketing #AMPscript #Customization #Email  I have built an email in Content Builder within SFMC and I'm using AMPscript to populate a simply customized salutation using a person's name from a DE (in this case, the person is a doctor). The email will also have copy text and images in its body and a customised sign-off at the bottom where information will be pulled and populated depending on what doctor will be receiving the email. For example, each doctor has a Sales Rep assigned in a DE, the sign-off will be populated with the Sales Rep's details depending on what Doctor is the recipient of the email.  This email won't be scheduled to be triggered from Journey Builder (at a specific date/time) but it will be triggered by a Sales Rep (I guess from their iPad).  Is there a way to include a "free text" at the beginning of the email body so the Sales Rep triggering the email will be able to write their preferred copy?  If so, how is it done?  Thank you for helping this junior dev :) @* Marketing Cloud Engagement *

    Hi Maria,

It seems like this is still a limitation, we highly recommend to create your own idea at IdeaExchange (https://trailblazer.salesforce.com/ideaSearch)

This way once Salesforce Product team review your idea and gets the highest votes. This might be included on the next release and future functionality.

Hello! I have been using the new Pardot Email builder this week and I have noticed my emails are not sending as mobile responsive. When viewing the email in the email content builder, I can change the view to mobile and see what it will look like. The buttons are almost full width of the screen ad the text is appropriately bigger 👍🏻 However, when I sent the list email, on a mobile device it simply looked like a mini version of the desktop email, text and buttons were quite small, not resized as you would expect from a mobile responsive template and not like I was seeing in the email content builder.

Any thoughts? Am I missing a setting or something?

Thanks in advance for your help

Hello, I'm running into an issue with Content Builder and data extensions. I have an email series that is 5 different emails (templates) and I need to use 5 different data sources. But every time I change the template to use a different data extension, it changes it for the other 4. How can I get each template to use a different data source?

Hey guys,

Does anybody know why when I try to run the "Single Email Performance by Device" report in Email Studio, the only emails appearing are Classic Content emails and none of my Content Builder emails are there?

Thanks in advance!

Does anybody know how to find the "external key" of files in Content Builder? I'm trying to add an attachment to an email using the AttachFile AMPScript.  The script instructions state that Content Builder hosted files need to be called in the script using the external key.  None of my content builder files have external keys.  I only see "Customer Key" "ID" and "URL" for my files.

For reference, the AMPScript instructions I'm following are here https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/atlas.en-us.noversion.mc-programmatic-content.meta/mc-programmatic-content/attachfile.htm?search_text=Email%20Attachments

Thanks
