Hi Paul, @Ella Worsdale may be able to help here. Or @Simon Beaumont might have some contacts.

In the next couple of months, an update to the English Indices of Deprivation will be published. The data is used to produce the overall Index of Multiple Deprivation (IMD) which provides an overall score for the relative level of multiple deprivation in every neighbourhood in England.

All of the small areas (LSOA) in England are ranked according to their score allowing relative deprivation comparisons to be made at a small area level across England. This is a crucial resource for a number of public sector organisations to inform planning and allocation of resources.

Which brings me on to an opportunity for us to work together and harness the power of Tableau.

From a local government perspective, every Council in England will spend time analysing the data contained within the publication – resulting in a significant amount of duplication. Whilst more in-depth analysis will always take place at a local level, there is an opportunity to develop a suite of interactive products, using Tableau, which would deliver value to organisations across England.

If this is something you would be interested in getting involved in, from a Tableau development side or from the perspective of how your organisation would use this key data set, then please get in touch.

Thanks

Mike

Hi @Dipesh Bhoola  - absolutely, we hosted an event in Birmingham in September 2019 to get everyone together to work out the analytical requirements and then put together a suite of dashboards to answer these questions.

There's a post a little further down this page where I posted a write up of the event titled 'Analysing the Indices of Deprivation 2019 Event'

    Hope this helps!

Hi All!

We're looking to put on our next UK Public Sector TUG on 2 February 2021!

We're looking for speakers who have stories to share on the theme of post-COVID recovery. What have you or your organisation learned from the past year and how will you be using data and/or Tableau differently?

There are plenty of learning opportunities here & I'd welcome anyone to get in contact with me if you have a story you'd like to share!

Hi All - we're putting on the next Public Sector User Group tomorrow (Thursday 15th October 2020) from 14:00 BST.

This will be focussed around COVID19 and how different organisations have responded. I'll be speaking alongside presenters from Hackney Council and NHS England & Improvement so if this sounds of interest, please do sign up here:
