I need ideas.

We have parent/child accounts in Salesforce. In a child account --

1) the "member status" is flown down from the parent account, which is a formula field to display yes/no.

2) There is another field in account to calculate # of days until membership expires. However, in child account, that number is not valid or no number.

3) there is no related membership records with the child account, only on parent account.

Now in Tableau. We use Tableau Cloud and/or desktop, connecting to Salesforce. In Tableau, formula fields are not coming over, so I can't use "member status" field. I use that "# of days until membership expires" field >= 1 to filter members only. But all the child accounts got excluded since the number is not valid.

I need ideas to include child accounts that are members in Tableau. really not sure how.

You will need to re-create the data structures and formulas in Tableau, starting by relating child to parent accounts like this:

You may also be able to use Salesforce Data Cloud, but that's expensive and a big project.

I want to create a view that looks like a table for measure values and a stacked bar chart.

Currently, I can create the following below, where I changed the Sales and %Diff  measures to discrete, so that their values appear to be in a Table.  But when I put Product in the color marks card, the bars split into side by side.  I want the bars to Stack.

Regards,

Lenzy

Mundane to Motivational: SSRS to Tableau                          Ramona Johnson - Focus on the Family

This presentation shows how to use the same MS-SQL stored procedures developed for SSRS reports as data sources for Tableau.  Tips for shaping the data sources into dimensions and measures which will serve both presentation tools are reviewed. Several examples of both SSRS reports and their equivalent Tableau dashboards will be shown.    A review of the advantages of this method as well as lessons learned will be presented.  The advantages of the visual presentation of the Tableau as well as the ability to drill down to the cross tabs of numbers as in the SSRS reports are shown.

    Hello Ciara,

Looks like all of these are from 2021. Are any of these Non-profit TUGs still active?

I know non-profits can purchase Tableau Desktop via TechSoup

What is the deal with a Cloud Subscription?

It would make so much sense to purchase a desktop license and get 5 viewer licenses?

I heard about Tableau Cloud coming to P10??
