Hi,

I am creating a Pie chart showing Top 5 Manufacturers and rest all combined into 'Others'. So Mfr 1,2,3,4,5 and Others.

I want to sort the Top 5 Mfr in descending order of Sales and Others at the end.

    Like this?

Hi @Ashish Nandivadekar Like this?I've created a Top 5 set based on State:Now we can create a calc to show State name, orI've created a Top 5 set based on State:

image.pngNow we can create a calc to show State name, or "Other" when not top 5...

IF [Top 5 States] THEN [State] ELSE 'Other' END

And another that only returns sales for top 5. Top 5 State Sales or 0. we'll use this for sorting...

IF [Top 5 States] THEN [Sales] ELSE 0 END

    The sorting:

I only want to pull needed data from the data source into Tableau.

For ex, if I initially have only 2 category values on my Dashboard Category Filter, then only those 2 category data should be pulled from the data source and later when I select only 1 category value then only that 1 category data should be pulled from data source into tableau. Dashboard filters should work directly on data source and pull only request data.

I'm a bit lost on this one @rhut parekh as this is exactly how data source filtering works, unless of course you plan on defining a new data source from the result of the filter, in which case, Context Filters will probably help here. Simply right-mouse your filter, and select Add to context. And if this source is to be used across each of the vizzes using the same source, set the filter on all pages.

@Vibhu Sharma this is just normal querying and filtering. Have you experienced degraded performance from attempting to implement this?
