Database Sherpa Hub

The Database Sherpa group is a way to connect, share information, ask and answer questions, and give and receive peer support. You'll find Sherpas and advisors here, and also others who have been through a similar experience on the road to peace with their data. We hope you all benefit from collaboration with others in the space.

BACN provides food, clothing, financial assistance and education services at our location. The organization also supports collaborative services. One example: BACN supplies senior citizen friendly food to the Senior Center who then delivers the extra food as part of their meals on wheels program. BACN supplies hygiene kits to the schools to give out to students that are in need of these supplies. How are organizations tracking these collaborations where they are not serving the client directly?

Do you know that IsPrimary doesn't get exported when you use the Salesforce export functionality? Nope, it most certainly does not. So, we need this to catch the attention of the PM for Exports who states that "Due to competing priorities, the dev team supporting this feature is unable to pick up the work at this point. We are keeping an eye on the idea exchange points to help prioritize."

All nonprofits need this field. It's required for the Opportunity Contact Role functionality. This is critical. So, unless you are using a different exporting tool to get your data out of Salesforce, VOTE THIS UP. SPREAD THE WORD. Help increase the stupid POINTS so it gets prioritized higher NOW.

Thank you and sorry for screaming. I'm a little frustrated.

We believe that databases are more than a one-time project. A database isn’t just a tool implemented once — like a good relationship, it needs care and attention so you can continue to rely on it. @Database Sherpa Hub  @Amplify

5 signs your database needs you!

Hi Ashima, what a great write up! You hit the nail on the head. I have always thought that a nonprofit needs to think of themselves as a (consciencious and responsible) business. I can see the following analogy: a non profit's mission is their product or service, and the donors are their customers. A non-profit's bottom line is their impact. I work with some non profits that work like well oiled machines (with goals, deadlines etc) and I often think of them (fondly) as social enterprises.
