For those who are interested in Salesforce and CPQ

Hi community,

if you're new to CPQ as a concept, or still considering CPQ options for Salesforce, I have an article that is quite easy to digest as an introduction:

Key Takeaways:

✦ Understand the role of CPQ in simplifying and enhancing the configure-price-quote process.

✦ Explore the benefits of CPQ tools, from speeding up sales cycles to providing personalized sales content seamlessly.

✦ Learn about Salesforce CPQ and how it helps sales teams create, manage, and track quotes within the Salesforce environment.

✦ Uncover the potential revenue growth with CPQ software, backed by industry insights and statistics.

You can read it here: https://sculptor.cloud/blog/what-is-cpq-in-salesforce?utm_source=trailhead&utm_medium=group2&utm_campaign=what-is-cpq-jan24

What was the bottleneck for you when you first started working with CPQ software? Or was it smooth sailing?

I am looking to generate/listed all possible SKUs for a bundle to be created automatically.

Is there anyway that i can list down all possible SKUs in Salesforce by means of reports or in excel?

Thanks

    HI @Piyusha Pilania

I dont have those SKUs stored on any objects yet.

I have just created that bundle in Salesforce CPQ. Now lets suppose it has 3 features : F1 (Options = F1A, F1B,F1C) ,

                     F2 (Options = F2A, F2B, F2C)

                     F3 (Options = F3A, F3B) then there there will be multiple possible SKUs like F1A-F2A-F3A / F1A-F2B-F3A / F1A-F2C-F3A and so on...

I want to list down all these possible permutations.

I've been thinking about the Order object (and Order Lines) and it's fundamental purpose within the typical CPQ flow. Is it an essential object within the CPQ flow, or do most organizations not use it?

I'm asking because it just feels like most process could be pulled in either earlier onto the Quote, or pushed out to later and onto the Contact. And in fact I see on this trailhead page it's suggested that the Order object is optional and a Contract can be created straight from the Quote, however the Order object is recommended.

Looking to see if others in the groups have found the Order object to be essential, and maybe why.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Note: My question is for instances which are not using Salesforce Billing.

    Hy @Rajitha Avula,

To make the Salesforce CPQ app available on your Lightning record page, you'll need to add it to the Lightning App Launcher. Here are the steps to follow:

    1. Click on the App Launcher icon (the nine dots in a square) in the top-left corner of your Salesforce org.
    2. Click on the gear icon in the top-right corner of the App Launcher, and select "Edit App Visibility."
    3. Locate the Salesforce CPQ app in the list of available apps, and make sure it's set to "Visible" for the relevant profiles.
    4. Click "Save" to save your changes.

Once you've made Salesforce CPQ visible in the App Launcher, you can add it to your Lightning record page by following these steps:

    1. Navigate to the record page where you want to add the Salesforce CPQ app.
    2. Click on the gear icon in the top-right corner of the page, and select "Edit Page."
    3. Click on the "Utility Items" tab on the left-hand side of the page.
    4. Click on the "Add Utility Item" button at the bottom of the tab.
    5. In the search bar that appears, type "Salesforce CPQ" and select the app from the list of results.
    6. Click "Add" to add the Salesforce CPQ app to your record page.
    7. Once you've added the app, you can customize its placement on the page by dragging and dropping it to the desired location.
    8. Click "Save" to save your changes to the record page.

That should do it! Your Lightning record page should now default to the Salesforce CPQ app when you open it. Let me know if you have any further questions or issues.

Hi, I am wondering if someone help me with the below scenario please. When the user chooses Product 1 or product 2, it should go to Approver 1 and for product 3 it should go to Approver 2. (In any order) I'm not able to see the product name field in the Approval rule/condition on 'Tested field' , should I be choosing Target object as 'SBQQ__Quote__c' or 'SBQQ__QuoteLine__c'. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks.
