We have this beta in our full sandbox and I have questions on how we can add custom fields to the update such as SIC and NAICS codes, as well as descriptions for these fields? Is this possible?
Jun 3, 2016, 8:22 PM Chris - you can create formula fields and referencing the DandBCompany object to pull in the fields you need.
I've read thru the documentation and reviewed the questions here. I'm not sure if all my questions are addressed, so apologies if this is a repeat. Maybe having all questions in one place will make a good checklist for everyone else?
My questions:
- cleaning this way does not appear connected to the scheduled data.com cleaning. If I hit the Clean button, this new feature is not run *and* the data.com Clean Status at top of page is not updated from 'Not Found', for example.
- I edited a record and Clean Rule (beta) did not clean the record. i i've had it Activated for the past week. i just added the related list section to leads page layouts today. but i seem to have to clean them individually?
- if i clean via the related list Clean link, the Clean Status is updated in the related list section only. Not at top of page, where data.com clean status is displayed.
- Users would need to look in 2 places on each lead to see if the lead is clean?
- I cannot create a View on the related list field 'Clean Status'.
- Are we supposed to have a report based on the lead 'clean status' field and on the related list 'clean status' field?
Thank you for clarifying.
May 12, 2016, 5:07 PM - Enrich Leads with Company Information is not connected to the scheduled Data.com Clean Jobs. The clean status field and the clean button at the top of the page are independent from this functionality. In short, the difference between the two are
1) Match leads to Contacts - The lead in the CRM is matched against the contact asset and if a match is found, we return the contact details along with the company information. The company information here corresponds to the company location where the contact is based out of.
2) Match leads to Companies - The lead in the CRM is matched against the company asset and if a match is found, we return the Global/Domestic HQ company information.
- The leads are cleaned as they are created or there is an update to the match fields. The match fields are Company, Email, Website, Address and DunsNumber. You are not required to clean the records individually.
- Beginning Summer ’16, release, you can create reports based on the related list ‘clean status’.
We have been working on improving the Clean experience and Enrich Leads with Company Information is built on the newer clean platform that allows enrichment in near real-time along with support on Salesforce Classic and Lightning. We are working on moving over the existing Lead to Contact Clean to the newer platform (
#SafeHarbor).
We would love to hear your lead enrichment use cases and gather feedback on the existing beta functionality.
I'm having issues getting this to work as I would expect.
Issue 1: The matching seems to always only add information from the global headquarter. Is this expected? Is there any way to get it to match down to the site/location level?
Issue 2: I looked up a random lead on the Data.com tab (jeff@brenkbrothers.com) and hand-keyed it in as a new lead. Since the person is in Data.com, I was expecting the system to auto-fill data from Data.com, but this did not happen. When clicking Clean in the related list the system says there's no match. However, if I click the Clean button on the top of the lead record it finds the data correctly. Is the auto-matching function using a different data source than the Clean button?
Apr 26, 2016, 2:48 PM @Siddharth Pandey , thanks for the feedback.
I'd be glad to discuss on a call or via email, if appropriate.
Especially like to learn what the plans are for the new release and what the roadmap looks like.
I will follow up in a private message with contact details.
Just getting started with this today, and I've not seeing the matching I expected. Maybe I have this configured incorrectly? Data.com Companies for Leads Clean Rule has been activated and set to bypass Workflow Rules and Apex. After enabling this and allowing the batch to run, I find that there are still a lot instances where D&B Company is blank. I've also tried manually cleaning by clicking "Clean" in the Clean This Record with Data.com related list.
As an example: I have a lead record with a name and email (xxxxx@bankofamerica.com). DUNS number is blank, D&B Company is blank. When I hit "Clean". I get this message: "There’s no match for this record in the data service, so you can’t completely clean it." Am I missing something? xxx@bankofamerica.com seems like it should be a pretty straight forward match.
We just activated the rule in our sandbox, and tried to clean a few records manually (using the related list as well as editing the record), and all of them said no match. When I take the company name and search in the Data.com tab, the accounts for all lead records can be found. What could I be doing wrong?
Dec 8, 2015, 12:31 AM The pilot is attempting to establish a match to a Global HQ. These could be cases where we were unable to establish a match. I would like to review these results with you. I will follow up over email.
We just turned this on, and I have a couple questions:
1. Is there a way to force leads to be rerun through Data.com after enabling? I did check the box to "Clean all records when this rule is activated or saved" but it appears from last night job that only 50k leads were processed.
2. To report on enrichment, do I need to create a new custom report type or do I use standard lead enrichment report? I am trying to measure the increase in enrichments due to the new functionality and it is hard to tell what is impacting lead enrichment.
Oct 29, 2015, 1:07 AM Sid, I have set the job to rerun tonight and bypass triggers.
Regarding reporting, there is a standard Clean Status field that shows "Not Found" on a lead.
The new Clean This Record with
Data.comrelated list shows the Clean Status as "Different".
I would like to report on these leads that show different statuses and also would like to be able to see which fields are different. When I select either Clean action, it doesn't pop up a stare and compare window that shows me which values are different, so I am hoping to do this via a report.

Just implemented this and really like how the leads are enriched upon entry, no need to wait for clean job. We did a non standard use case by looking at a subset of our accounts that are in Not found and used the email address for the primary contact on the account and were able to find a match for 30% of the sample data set and used to update those account records. VERY excited about that.
Oct 21, 2015, 11:56 PM Wow, that is super cool! This is the best part of our jobs - creating software that people use in clever, unexpected ways to solve real problems!
