I've been a PSA user for a few years now and have made many internal requests for updates to better support my PM organization to manage projects. I have run into wall regarding tracking external project stakeholders and am looking how to track those contacts and roles within PSA. I have found a Contact Roles quick link section under opportunities but nothing similar to this under PSA engagement or sub-projects . Any suggestions on how to achieve this and what I need to ask of the admin team would greatly be appreciated. thanks
Hi Michael,
If you need to track external stakeholders and their roles against PSA projects or sub-projects, one option is to use a custom relationship between the Contact and the relevant PSA project/engagement record. You could create a custom object or junction object to store the Contact, project, and stakeholder role, depending on whether multiple contacts and roles need to be tracked.
I’d first check with your Certinia admin whether the PSA package already provides a standard object or relationship for project stakeholders in your installed version. If not, a small custom object with fields such as Project, Contact, Stakeholder Role, and Active could provide the required flexibility.
If you can share the specific PSA object you’re using for the engagement/sub-project and your Certinia package version, it would help determine whether there’s a standard option before going down the customization route.
