1. The African Health Forum aims to spur networking and debate among the key actors of the health sector in Africa and their counterparts from other continents. Prominent African and international speakers will address key economic and strategic problems during the high level conferences.
o Over 500 people, including key public and private sector decision-makers and the heads of leading financial institutions and health industries will interact during the African Health Forum.
o The African Health Forum will be held in Geneva before the World Health Assembly and will thus benefit from the particular attention of top-ranking African and international health authorities.
2. The private sector is a key part of the solution to challenges currently facing the African health sector. The private sector plays an important role at all levels of health service delivery in Africa and its greater engagement holds promises in terms of improving service quality and accessibility, enhancing accountability, creating jobs and fostering robust economic growth on the continent. Similarly, the private sector has a central role to play in maximizing the benefits of the ongoing technological revolution, which leads to new developments in the way health services are managed, delivered and financed.
