Hi,
I am planning to evaluate the new Tableau add-in for Microsoft 365, but I am currently waiting for permission to install add-ins in PowerPoint and Word.
One thing I am especially curious about, and honestly cannot wait to find out, is how image cropping behaves when refreshing Tableau content in PowerPoint.
My planned workflow is:
- Insert a Tableau dashboard into PowerPoint using the add-in.
- Crop the inserted dashboard in the slide so that only a specific chart or section of the dashboard is visible in PowerPoint.
- Later refresh the Tableau content directly from PowerPoint
Will the manual crop settings in PowerPoint be preserved after refreshing the Tableau content, or does the refresh replace the entire image/object and reset the crop?
Many thanks!

I tested this for Pulse Metrics since I only wanted to show the value, not the graph. The refresh replaces the entire image in the cropped size, so it looks very small.
