Hi Community
Can actions run automatically? Current selections are Hover, Select, Menu which requires the user to click to run it. This vis is loaded into a client portal (there are over 2k clients) so when the client pulls up the report, it filters based on their OrgID.
I’ve attached a watered-down package workbook with dummy data to see if Tableau can do this.
The workbook was originally set up using the first dB (red color) called Comparison and when the developers embedded the code, they had to set a filter for OrgID in the embed code to work in the portal. After it went live, the client asked for changes but I was not allowed to touch the Comparison dB so we are using that as an instruction landing page with a button having them click to go to the Comparison Metrics dashboard.
When the vis moves to the Comparsion dB, the line chart on the left filters to their org and plots their dots. The bar chart on the right is not active until they click their name in the line chart. Then the bars sorts and puts their org at the top. It works great but I’m hoping to make that bar chart work automatically so when they click the landing page button, the line and bar chart should update to their org. On the bar chart we can’t put OrgID there because it filters to just that org. Our goal is to show their org at the top and then sort all others below. I’m using a set for that.
For testing, you can change the OrgID at the top you will see what I mean that the bars don’t automatically update until they click the name in the line chart.
Thank you!
