Is there a way in tableau to have all the filters at the top, allow the user to select them first and then use a button to apply them so it's not updated in the moment?

    Hi @Maria Lobato

For filters, you can enable an Apply button so that filters don't update immediately:

    • Right-click on the filter card and Choose Customize > Show Apply Button.
    • Now the filter won't apply automatically; user will select multiple filters and click "Apply" to update the view.

    Limitation:

You need to enable this individually for each filter. It works well but doesn't control all filters together from one single apply button.

Another Approach using actions by single click:

    1. Create a calculated field as "Apply Filters"

    2. Then drag the calculated field to rows in new sheet and drag the filters you want in filters shelf and also in detail shelf in the same sheet.

    3. In dashboard pull the above sheet at top and the filters from the this sheet only and create a actions where source will be "Apply Filters" sheet and target will be the sheet which you want to filter.

    4. Then select the values from the multiple filters and after that click on Apply Filters , it will be done.
