Hi,

I'm trying to find out if it's possible to enable multi-factor authentication (MFA) on Tableau Server without using SAML or an external identity provider like Okta.

What I'd really like is a way to enable MFA directly for local users—either through the Tableau Server UI or using TSM. So far, I haven’t found anything in the documentation that confirms whether this is supported.

Has anyone been able to do this, or know if it’s even possible?

Thanks in advance!

Hi, unfortunatelly according to my experience and knowledge there is not such feature in Tableau Server. You may create an idea for this on the Salesforce Idea Exchange: https://ideas.salesforce.com/s/post

As you say, you would need to rely in a third party idp if you want that for Tableau Server.

If this post resolves the question, would you be so kind to "Select as Best"?. This will help other users find the same answer/resolution and help community keep track of answered questions. Thank you.
