Sales data for a business unit is hung on a sharepoint online site so it can be connected to Tableau as a data source.

Each time the files are refreshed what happens is a file with the same name is uploaded to the SPO site which essentially overwrites/replaces the existing file. This is breaking the published data source.

I welcome any suggestions on how to resolve this

    Hi @Matt Horvath

I don't have much experience with Sharepoint, but I've connected server data sources many times to Excel files on a file-based path (something like \\fileserver\shared_folder\data.xlsx), and those don't break when the file is overwritten.

I would suspect that the link URL that you're using contains some sort of file ID, that is changed every time a new version of the file is created. Maybe there's a different URL with the actual name that you can use?
