Hello!
We are currently on version 2022.3.2 and are attempting to overwrite a workbook (we'll call it workbook X) with a couple of changes from Tableau Desktop. We have overwritten this workbook before with no issues. We have not overwritten it while on this version, but we have overwritten other workbooks on this version with no issues.
When trying to publish our workbook X by overwriting the existing copy of workbook X on the Server, we get the following error.
Do you have any ideas for how to solve this?
Please note the following:
- The user republishing is the owner with a Creator license. An admin also tried to republish and got the same error.
- The only change made was the addition of a new calculated field used as a filter on a couple of sheets.
- We tried to simply download the current version and re-upload it (no changes made) and still encountered this error.
- In the past we've been able to publish over this with no errors, making similar changes.
- Other workbooks in the same folder as workbook X can be overwritten without error.
- We are able to publish this as a NEW workbook and overwrite that new version without errors. (This is not an ideal solution for us as this would create a new workbook link which we do not want)
- The error also occurs when trying to publish from Tableau web, except the error code is an alpha-numeric value that changes every time the error occurs.
Thank you!

Thanks for providing enough details!
Could you verify the logs within Tableau Server ?
