I would like to tableau to calculate the allocated Budget based on a date range.
I have been given a Sales Budget for the full year, this is not split by date, month, quarter, week etc
How can i, if at all, calculated the amount of budget that shoudl be for the date range selected.
Typically in excel this calculated base don the dates selected. It then takes the difference in days and divides by 365 and works out a %.
That % is then used to calculate the amount of budget required for the date range selected.
Correct me if I am getting your question wrong,
As per my understanding, here you want the sales budget that you can view as per the selected date range.
In order to get that either you can apply filter or you can create a custom calculation that will show you the partioned date as per your requirement.
