Hello,

I am trying to add multiple flows that I sent from prep to the server to use in desktop, however when I go the sheet it does not let me add additional data and when I go to the data source page and I try to select another flow I get this message: Adding multiple flows from tableau server to desktop?Because of this, I am not able to create an extract for the other flows as well as see it in the worksheet.

Does anyone know if there is a work around where I can use multiple flows from the server?

Would I need to join the multiple data sources first in prep under the same output in order for it to work? Thank you.

As Budi stated, it is not clear what you are asking, but I will make some assumptions.

One probable source of the confusion is the term 'flow'. You appear to be conflating the flow itself with the output of the flow. You don't add a flow to a workbook; you add the output of the flow. In your case, it appears the output is a published data source (PDS).

Currently, PDS cannot be related or joined to any other data source. When you go to the data source tab/page of a workbook, you will not be able to add your new PDS as connections in the current data source. You can add them as new data sources. If you are trying to add new fields to the workbook (not just change data is existing fields), you would not replace the data source. Instead, you would blend the data on the worksheets.

Until composable data sources becomes available, combining multiple data sources in prep to output one data source is an option. The resulting change of the data structure, however, could break existing workbooks built using the existing data sources. When you try to replace the individual data source with the new combined data source, you could still get the warning shown in your question.
