I was doing some work using Tableau desktop, which I then wanted to publish onto Tableau Server. But I got an 'Invalid username or password.' error. I don't understand why, since I'm using the same credentials as when I login to Tableau Server and which work fine. Any idea of what could be happening?

Then you need to verify the credentials.
Usually when connecting to Server. you have windows authenticaed password or you don't need to enter the password if you have already signed in before.
If you select the server name it should be good enough.
If you are signing for the first time and you cannot connect with username and password than it must be some issue with the credentials need to check that with the IT team.
