Hi,
I have an Excel file that I use in Tableau server. It contains historical data.
What I would now like to do, is to run on a daily basis and for the latest day the same query that generated the data in the file mentioned above and append the Excel file with the new results.
My question is therefore how should I proceed?
I was thinking about creating a flow in Tableau prep, but I'm not sure if I can append that file that way.
But once the query has ran, appending back to a table should be at least as fast as copy/paste to Excel @Oliver Jean, if not faster due to the data pipeline.
Especially as storing data in Excel is not very safe, and should be re-uploaded as soon as possible, which can bring about a minefield of fun on the return ETL.
Have you tested this?
