I currently have a workbook with a live data connection from a microsoft sql server, and it does not appear that the data in the workbook is refreshing like it should. I have tried using the refresh option in the data source tab, and the data that loads is still the same. I know the workbook is missing data because I have logged into the MSS from the server manager and can query the data there. There seems to be a disconnect between the live connection and tableau, any advice on this would be appreciated.
@Dan Barata if it is a live connection it means your desktop is always connected to this data source and pulls data. Did you check the data in sql server is that data latest and you are not seeing that in your tableau desktop? If you are extracting data and embedded in the data source then refresh should get you the latest data. Like click on the data source in a sheet on top left and then click on extract data.
