My organization uses Tableau Online. We have noticed that when we use the same published data source in multiple published workbooks, sometimes someone will remove a field from the data source within the context of only one of the published workbooks, inadvertently breaking another workbook which relies on that field.
Is there any functionality in Tableau or some other tool available for checking if a data source has field dependencies in another workbook that the one we have open to avoid these kinds of errors?

If you have the Data Management Add On, then you can use the Lineage:
