Hello everybody,
(Please note that I am very new Tableau user and this is my first time on the forums. Simplistic and easy-to-understand answers will be greatly appreciated ).
I am currently creating a stock overview in Tableau with a data flow that I have combined in Alteryx. However, I am facing some current issues that I believe can be solved in Tableau, namely:
1) I have a lot of wares that are have different expirations dates, which looks like this:
This is very nice for me, as I can see when each individual item expires. However, is there any way in which I can create an additional dimension that calculates the total quantity (which would be 30, seen as 10+10+10 = 30) in the above example?
2) Is there any way in which I can get Tableau to automatically remove data that has no current quantity? In the photo below, please note how "AGARPLATE" has some old items which expired on the 17th of April 2020, 29th of November 2019 and 30th of December 2019. These used to have data in them many weeks ago (which is shown in the history), but they do not have any quantity right now. Can I somehow create a formula or something that removes these items from the list UNLESS they have a quantity above 0 in the current week? (week 202025).
3) Is it possible to create a formula so whichever item I have that is CLOSEST to reaching its minimum stock (so if item A has minimum stock = 100 and quantity = 105 and item B has minimum stock = 50 and quantity = 60, then item A would be shown first, because it's closer to reaching its minimum stock) is shown and then first and then the list descends down to the last item which is furthest away from its minimum stock?
4) My inventoryweek currently looks like this:
Is there any way in which I can reverse this? So week 202025 (the current week) is shown first and then until the last week many weeks ago?
5) Is there any way in which I can create a color filter, so whenever one of my products are about to reach the expiration date (for example 1 week away from reaching it), they get highlighted in a red color?
Thank you so much for reading this everybody. It is much appreciated! I apologize for my long, and perhaps confusing questions. Should anybody require any more information, photos or the like, please do not hesitate to let me know
I would greatly appreciate detailed information on what to do to solve these issues or links to solutions that have already been given for similar occurances, which I would be able to use in my instance.
Thank you!
Best regards,
David
There's a lot here. Perhaps we can take these in small steps. In order to help you better, I think we may need to see a workbook. Any chance you could attach a sample workbook?
