Quick Question.

In case Server version is newer than 10.2,

We can publish workbook from desktop version 10.5 with downgrading version.

However, if I want to publish the data source with extracted, does desktop 10.5 has capability to extract as TDE, or I need to use desktop 10.4 to extract data as TDE, and publish to the server?

Maybe I am missing very simple thing, but just want to confirm.

Thanks,

Shin

Got an answer from Tableau and it's No.

Got an answer from Tableau and it's No. So, you can enjoy HYPER only on Desktop, provided you only use that view on Local use.

So, you can enjoy HYPER only on Desktop, provided you only use that view on Local use.

If you plan to publish the view with Extracting Data source to Tableau server which is 10.4 or below version,

you cannot use Desktop 10.5, and need to use 10.4.

10.5 Desktop does not work with extracting data to 10.4 Server,

    •      You cannot publish data source (as TDE), nor packaged workbook.

    (Although)

    •      You can publish workbook with downgrading to 10.4 or lower, only in case it's live connection.

It's OK that we cannot use HYPER, but I'm little bit disappointed that we cannot use "NON-EQUI-JOIN" on 10.4 server environment.

    Thanks,
