Linking two sheets in a dashboard

Dear Tableau Forum,

Attached is a workbook with two sheets. One sheet (named "table") has a simple table, see figure 1. The second sheet (named "chart") has a simple chart, see figure 2.

OBJECTIVE:

I want both sheets to appear in one dashboard, I want the second sheet ("chart") to be empty until I click on one of the KPI's in sheet 1 ("table"). If I click 'sales' in sheet 1 ("table") for example, I would like the chart in sheet 2  ("chart") to be populated with the monthly 'sales' data. If I then click on 'gross profit' in sheet 1 ("table") then I want the chart in sheet 2 ("chart") to display 'gross profit' month by month.  If I haven't clicked on anything, I want the chart in sheet 2 ("chart") to be blank.

COMMENTS:

1.) You'll notice that sheet 2 ("chart") is a dual axis chart with two different mark types, as is the left axis shows total 'sales' month by month and the left axis shows the same measure 'sales' but divided by 'orders'. In the above I only described having the left axis change as you click on different measures in sheet 1 ("table") but I would actually like the right axis to change as well, ideally it would change to whatever measure I chose in sheet 1 ("table") divided by 'orders'.

2) In sheet 1 ("table") I have filtered date using a relative date for previous month - I don't care how this is accomplished, as long as the measures in sheet 1 ("table") are only those from the most recent time period.

3.) I built a workbook in the past where I created a parameter (see figure 3.) and then created a calculated field in dimensions with a "Case - When" formula (see figure 4). I could then use the parameter control to change the dimension that I want to view the measure through (see figure 5). I think what I am trying to do here is similar. The difference is a.) instead of rotating through different dimensions that I want to view the measure through, I want to be able to leave the dimension constant (time) and change the measure and b.) instead of using the parameter window, I want to shift through the different dimensions based on what measure I click on in sheet 1 ("table").
