Hello! I'm not sure if this is even possible as Tableau tries to smartly label things based on space.
Long story short: I'm using a Set to color and label marks on a slope graph. By default, everything is part of the Set.
Due to things being close together, it would look awful if we selected "Allow labels to overlap". However, once a user narrows down the Set, it would be great if we could force those labels to show. Ideally these would be prioritized over others. Below is an example using Superstore.
My set is Region + Category. I have selected all Central region options in my Set. You can see "E - Technology" is labeled, whereas "C - Furniture" is not due to availability of space. I was hoping Sorting might somehow prioritize labels, but I don't think it works that way and it's simply based on whitespace.
My only other thought is to do a LOD based on the Set to determine if any selections have been made - however we have several sets in use so I would have to add all of these to context. 😔
Any help is appreciated! TWBX attached.
Best,
Bryce
