Is it possible to create the image below in tableau? I am trying to be able to grab two random points on a line graph and find the difference between both points.

This is probably suboptimal, but you could try it with dashboard actions:
one sheet being your source with the graph,
the other sheet being the difference calculation.
The second sheet would be filtered on the points that are drag-selected.
You could also put in some reference lines to highlight the area selected.

There may also be a way to accomplish it using Viz in a Tooltip.
However, when I tried it, I wasn't able to get the hover to filter for the whole region
selected, only point-by-point.
