Hi Tableau gurus,

I have this challenge with Tableau Maps. I am trying to overlay custom Latitude/Longitudes over a standard Filled map. These are some custom selected cities in my data which are supposed to be displayed on a filled map. I am aware of how to create a Dual Axis with Maps and Shapes.

However, I am unable to do this between Lat/Lon (Generated) and Lat/Lon (Custom). I tried searching through the forum with no luck.

I have attached the sample workbook and a screenshot with highlighted Lat/Lon (Custom) measures which are supposed to be mapped on dual axis.

Maps Overlay with Custom Latitudes and Longitudes

Any guidance on this is highly appreciated.

Cheers,

Ravi.

Unfortunately you can only use ONE set of Lat/Lon coordinates for your map - even for dual axis.    Is there any reason you cannot just use the Custom coordinates and use dual axis on those as in below?  You can still get country from that.  One layer is filled colored map by country and other layer is circles (no color differentiation).
