Tableau reuse existing connection string in tableau server for new extract

Hello Team,

I would like to know whether we can store the connection string of a database connection in Tableau server and use the same for new extract being published from desktop to server.

For Example:

I need to publish a new extract to server

Extract Name: ElectronicStudents

I can publish with Test Environment details into the server. However i dont have connection details of the production. However we can store it in a encrypted way if possible on the server & use the same after publishing in production.

Kindly help me over here.
