Hi,
the data I have has a JSON column. Upon parsing the data I can see that the data values are provided in a very unorderly fashion. Some data are repeated, some rows have data that others don't have. However the data is, I have to remove the duplicate information from each column and find the combined count of each type of data.
The screenshot shows how the data is: color represents duplicate data.
There are some empty fields in rows.
For example: The 1st row with Company: GM, Brand: Chevrolet is repeated, I want only one Brand data to be left behind. Similarly for 2nd row, the duplicate Brand and Color data is to be removed. Finally, the total count of each data across all the rows is to be determined, i.e Company count - 4, Size count - 3, Brand count- 4, Date count - 4 etc. Is there a way I can get this done using Tableau?
Thank you,
Vandana
Screenshots are helpful, but they are not the data. So not much to work with here. That being said, if you're not going to supply anything further for the volunteers to work with, you should be considering Tableau Prep to clean/reshape your data in advance of bringing the data into Tableau Desktop. Desktop can handle certain things, but not all things, as it's not designed to clean and shape the data. It has limited capabilities in that regard.
