Hello,
I work on the application side with the enterprise software (B2B). Several of our customers are using Tableau and recently expressed an interest to do analytics within their Tableau installation.
And we are considering what could be the best way to 'open up' our application / data warehouse to them, so that they would be able to efficiently use it for the analytical tasks.
In our context, we are able to provide secure access so that Tableau would fetch data directly from our data warehouse using standard connectors (primarily PostgreSQL and Athena).
Though I wonder if there are any specific benefits / good practice for us as a vendor to provide a tailored / proprietary Connector?
Will we, as a vendor, gain anything from doing it? Will analysts working within Tableau and consuming data from our application as a data source gain anything if we provide them with WDC as oppose to direct connection to the data source?
Greatly appreciate your advice!

Hi Stas
I see you posted a few weeks back but never got a response. I'll move the post over to the WDC board, as the folks there will be able to chime in with inputs.
