URL Action with Date Filters

Hello ,

We already of couple of Dashboards with Year & Month as Parameters that the end user can change, we then calculate the YTD/ MTD values of sales /GP from Invoice Date .

We want to now pass the date as an URL to filter another Dashboard by ACTION URL.I can pass the date in URL, but how do i assign the value to a calculated field so that i can use that as a reference to get the YTD / MTD in the destination Dashboard.

So if i pass 2014-12-01, then i need to store this value in the destination dashboard so i can extract the Year & Month to calculate YTD & MTD for any chosen date in the Source Dashboard.

Any ideas would be very helpful.
