Hello All,
I'm confused on refreshing the excel. I have an excel file which need to be updated (add more rows) at the beginning of the month. Which is the best way to refresh excel file?
I tried to refresh the data source in Tableau, and it takes a very long time each time due to our data is so large, hundreds of millions rows in Excel .
Thanks in advance.
Best Regards,
Regina
It sound like you would be best off to extract your data source, and then refresh the extract. Depending on whether we're talking Server or Desktop will depend on how you do it. In Server you can set up an incremental refresh, so only the new rows of data will be added to the end of the extract. In Desktop you can put all your new rows of data in a new Excel sheet or workbook, and then use the Append from File... option.
