That is my preferences file and as of today after the update install it says something about only using ' or " in the file. I have no idea what is now wrong with this file by that message that tableau is giving me.

it works for me in 10.2.1 (current version) I do see in the cut/paste that there is a ">" missing after the end </preferences
Is that possibly the issue?
