After experiencing some versioning frustration with a workbook I've been developing over the last few days, I downloaded the most current one from our Online profile and started to work on that on my desktop. I deleted ALL other versions of this workbook from my computer + emptied the trash. Now I've spent 2 hours developing this recent workbook called All Posts.twbx. I just went to save it and somehow it reverted to a past workbook.

Can someone please tell me what is going on? I'd like to get the work I just spent 2 hours on back. The Revert to Saved option is greyed out, which I don't understand. I literally just saved 2 hours of work to this book, it "computed visualizations" for a minute and then it appears that all of my work is gone.

Please help!

Really not sure except to say that maybe you didn't save it or saved it somewhere else by accident without realizing.

It may be a bug, in which case you could email Tableau support, but I'd likely say it's going to boil down to user error

I'd encourage you to create a case with Tableau Support, but understand it will take them a while to get back to you and they likely won't be able to recover your work - more so I'd recommend this in case it's a bug.
