Hello togehter,

I'm facing an issue with a dashboard provided by our company's headquarter. It is based on a local cube (file with

extension .cub) extracted from a MS Analysis Services database. Since we migrated from WinXP to Win7, when opening

the file with Tableau-Reader 9.0 I'm getting the following error message:

An error occured while comunicating with data source: Analysis Services database error 0x80004005: Query (66, 81) The [RTRIM]-Function not available.

The drivers (64Bit-Version) already installed are:

SQL Server 2008 R2 RTM

SQLServer 2008 OLEDB

XML6

SQLServer 2008R2 SP3

We cannot find the cause of the error and our headquarter cannot help either because, according to what they said, it should

work with the installed drivers.

Does anyone have an idea what the problem could be? I'm already a little desperate since we're trying to solve this problem

for weeks.

Thank you very much in advance!

BR,

Philipp

    Whoops, my bad ---

Reader wasn't able to do this for a long time and I assumed it was by design behavior. Appears that is is a bug that was fixed:

    http://kb.tableau.com/articles/issue/unable-to-open-workbooks-connected-to-local-cube-in-tableau-reader

I haven't played with this in years, so I had no idea.

That said, yes - you'd definitely need SSAS drivers on your machine in order to open the thing up.
