Would it be possible to connect Postgresql to Tableau public using postgres JDBC connection ?

Tableau does not yet support JDBC connections. That functionality is currently in Beta.
I don't know if it will EVER be supported on Public, though. Tableau Public is limited to extracts, not live connections.
