I am looking for a way to split a measure's difference on 1 record, and report the difference in different categories, for just the first month of a longer term period.

I am using Salesforce data, and need to split the renewal/upsell opportunity amount value into 2 values, the original amount and the increased amount (New amount - Old Amount), report the increased amount as new business and the original amount as renewal, just for the month it was sold, and then both values as renewal after that. This would go into a stacked bar chart.

Problem is the data comes in on single records. I can calculate the differences, but I am unable to determine a way to apply a different category to a different portion of that record's amount values, for any given period of time.

Am I left no other option than to produce a different data source that splits this data into separate records? Or is there some other magical way I can make this happen inside of Tableau?
